Old School, Queen Camel

Queen Camel Community Land Trust (CLT), a community benefit society, purchased the Old School in Queen Camel on 3rd May 2019. It has saved this unique property from an uncertain future to provide community facilities and workspace. The purchase and development are being funded through a mixture of grants, private loans and a community share offer. We already owe a debt of gratitude for the generosity of all those who have invested in the betterment of our village.

Why not become a lifetime member of our CLT for as little as £10?  Print, complete, sign and return this membership form to us at The Old School, High Street, Queen Camel, BA22 7NH and either pay via BACS or enclose a cheque (details are in the form).

In the meantime, if you would like to see the great progress made in the last 10 months, have a look at the fascinating and fully illustrated presentation  put together by our Chair…

What does this mean for you?

There are a number of ways to get involved:

Become a tenant: Do you have a project that needs space and encouragement to move forward, need a workshop, office, gathering spot or outside space? Please get in touch and let us explore how we can help.

Become a volunteer: We are looking for volunteers with a wide variety of skills to help us transform the whole site.  We would love to hear from you!

Donate historical items and memories: Hundreds of children through the years attended school here and have fond memories of it. Do you know any past pupils and staff? We would appreciate memorabilia, photos and memories relating to the school, period school furniture, farm & garden equipment, exercise equipment
